TEQUILA

Tequila the place and Tequila the drink are both fascinating, positioned Tequila's blue Agave plants in central America not far from Kailua and only a few hundred miles from Rum! The ‘fruit’ required to make tequila takes 8-10 years to reach maturity, it weighs well over 40kgs per piece and has nothing to do with grain, grapes or sugarcane!

While in the bad old days it was lick, sip, suck that people identified with Tequila – then there’s the Margarita, and increasingly there are connoisseurs out there that just love the taste of Tequila. There are also many out there that would love to find a worm in Tequila but are sadly disappointed when they find it is only in Tequila’s first cousin – Mescal.
